HOPPET Credits, etc.
HOPPET, written by Gavin Salam, and
released under the GNU Public License, has been under development
since 2001 with more recent contributions by Juan Rojo. Originally designed for matching fixed-order and resummed
results for event-shape distributions in DIS (Dasgupta and Salam, JHEP
0208 (2002) 032), it has gradually become a full DGLAP evolution
package, used for accurate benchmarks (in collaboration with Andreas
Vogt, with his QCD-Pegasus
program) in the context of the Les
Houches (Physics at TeV Colliders) and Hera/LHC
workshops.
It incorporates code written by other people for:
- NNLO splitting functions, and parameterised approximations,
corresponding to articles by Moch, Vermaseren and Vogt, Nucl. Phys. B691
(2004) 129 and Nucl. Phys. B688
(2004) 101;
- the evalution of harmonic polylogarithms, hplog, written by Gerhmann and Remiddi, Comp. Phys. Comm. 144 (2002) 200;
- heavy-quark threshold matching functions, corresponding to articles by Buza, Matiounine, Smith, Migneron and van Neerven (Nucl. Phys. B472 (1996) 611 and Eur. Phys. J. C1 (1998) 301), provided by the authors;
- older approximations to the NNLO spliting functions, based on fits to
moments and knowledge of asymptotes, as obtained and provided by van
Neerven and Vogt, Nucl. Phys. B568
(2000) 263, B588
(2000) 345 and Phys. Lett. B
490 (2000) 111;
- special functions, adaptive integration and differential equation solution, adapted from CERNLIB.
- assertions, from Numerical Recipes in Fortran 90 (only routines in
the public domain).
